WASHINGTON, D.C. — Angela Sousa, Hector Cruz-Feliciano, and their son Lorenzo relocated to Washington D.C. a month after Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, altering the course of their life, and affecting their marriage and stability.
“Quemado” or Burned, explores the metaphor between how the hurricane stripped the island to its core and how Angela’s family had to make sacrifices in order to survive and heal. Ultimately, the pull to keep the family close and the need to rebuild leads them back to the island.
